VISA TO MYANMAR

Myanmar Visa Requirements

• Passport valid for 6 months and having sufficient visa pages
• One original plus 2 copies of filled up visa application form
• Four (4) color photos (size: 5cm wide & 7 cm long) with white background.
• For Tourist Visa: A letter from your employer on business letterhead, with contact details, describing your duties, and stating that a leave of absence has been granted, purpose and duration of the trip, and that you will be returning to your current job. For students, please submit an official letter from your school stating your course of study and indicating that you are in good standing and that you are registered for the upcoming semester. If self-employed, write a letter with details of your occupation. If you are retired please submit a personal letter explaining your employment history.
• For Private/Social Visa: A completed biography form with passport size photo attached. Letter explaining the puprpose of the visit.
• For Religious Visa (Study of Theravada Buddhism): Letter explaining the puprpose of the visit. Self-written biography sketch. Letter stating that applicant will not engage in activities other than religious matters. Sponsor letter from Meditation Center/Monastery/Venerable Saydaw in Myanmar.
• Proof of status. Copy of Permanent Resident Card or other proof of legal status in Canada (such as study permit, work permit, refugee/protected person status document)
• Persons WITH DUAL citizenship, ONE of which IS Canadian, must apply WITH their Canadian passports only. Applicants WITH other THAN Canadian passports must provide the copy of the document confirming their current resident STATUS IN Canada (PR Card, Landed Document, WORK Permit)

For Business Visa

• Business Letter. A business letter from the sending company in Canada. The letter should be printed on company letterhead stationery, addressed to "The Embassy of Myanmar, Visa Section", and signed by a senior manager (an equivalent to Vice-President or above). The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
  
  • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant).
  • Specify the dates of entry and departure.
  • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Myanmar.
  • Specify the type and desired validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry business visa).
  • Guarantee of sufficient funds for travel.
  
  
• Business Letter. A company letter indicating purpose of visit to Myanmar, as well as dates of entry/departure from Canada, invitation letter/fax from Myanmar.
